I was really interested to learn more about Makey Mamas and the inspiration behind her workshops. I hope you enjoy reading this post!
What was the reason behind Makey Mamas?
The idea for Makey Mamas gestated along with my daughter. I’ve had a lifelong relationship with being creative and making ‘stuff’ for others and myself. When I was pregnant that desire was as strong as ever but I struggled to dedicate time to being creative with all that nesting going on. I wondered if I’d had regular time to spend on it, with other pregnant women, that I would have had more to show for my intentions.
With Makey Mamas, I want to enable other women; both pregnant and new mums, to nurture that creative instinct. I’m offering a range of ‘makey’ workshops where the women can learn new skills, make lovely things for their bumps and babies and relax with other like-minded women.
Please tell me a little about your workshops?
My range of workshops include; learning how to photograph your bump and baby, making natural skin products, toy and bootie making, patchworking and casting bumps and babies.
What do you enjoy the most about Makey Mamas?
One of the greatest things about starting Makey Mamas is that my daughter and I have met so many other lovely families in and around Bishopston. What a bunch of creative folk and everyone is really up for supporting small, local businesses! Thanks Bishopston!
