Festive Fun in Bishopston this December: the full line-up!

This December there is a huge amount of festive fun for children and families in Bishopston and surrounding areas!

FESTIVE FUN FOR KIDS:

7 Post Boxes to The North Pole

Seven very special post boxes to the North Pole in various places along Gloucester Road from 1st December which have been especially decorated by children from local primary schools.

From Friday 1st December children will be able to post their letters to the North Pole where Father Christmas resides. On Saturday 23rd December two letters will be drawn from each post box and the creator of those letters will receive a little something special.

Children’s Craft Workshop: Bishopston Library

All welcome along to make a decoration to hang on the Christmas tree at Bishopston Library with some help from from Knitnatterstich. You can label it with your name and it will then be displayed on the library’s Christmas tree to be seen until 23rd December when you can collect it to hang on your own tree at home.

Free Kids’ Christmas Party: Kings Lawn Tennis Club

Dice Tales, The Improvised Story Show for Children: Kelvin Players Studio

Dice Tales  will take children aged 5 – 12 on an adventure made not only for them but by them as well. How will they do this? How will these stories unfold? Why, on the roll of a dice, of course!

As each dice falls, they decide the who, the where and the what on earth will happen next! Creating crazy characters, twisty plots and grand finales brand new every time!

The Christmas Journey: Horfield Methodist Church

A multimedia event involving drama, puppets, music and stories including a fun walk through the Christmas Story. The journey is running in groups from 9.30am, each journey taking around 30 minutes. There are also craft activities to do before and after your journey. Refreshments available.

Christmas Holiday Clubs with The Outdoors Project

The brilliant Outdoors Project will be holding three special Christmas Holiday Club Sessions for kids aged 5 – 12 at The Old Library on Muller Road and will be making use of the library’s amazing outdoor green space.

Sessions are run by fully qualified outdoor pursuits instructors who are also DBS and First Aid Checked. Children need to bring a packed lunch, suitable outdoor footwear and waterproofs.

Kids’ Trail: Find the Christmas Puppies & Kittens

Find the 12 puppies and kittens hidden in shop windows around Gloucester Road. When your form is complete simply take it along to the Co-op 117 Gloucester Road to collect your prize!

The Curious Crocodile & The Meaning of Life with DragonBird Theatre: Kelvin Players, Bishopston

An interactive theatre session for young children and their parents/carers. Expect lots of props, puppets, dancing, parachutes, puppets, songs, costumes, bubbles, giant nets, scrap and many household items!

Sessions start with a performance of the story and are followed by an interactive play session.

Christmas Wreath Making Workshop: Golden Hill Community Garden

A fun, friendly and informal workshop where children and adults can learn to make a natural Christmas wreath made from foliage from the local allotments, plus take their wreath home to display.

It’s a fun, friendly and informal session and materials for the wreath will be provided.

Festive Bonanza: Gloucester Road, Bishopston

Christmas celebration and all-day Christmas Festive Bonanza on Cheltenham Road, Zetland Road and Gloucester Road, Bristol. Cosy Christmas Market, carols next to the Xmas Tavern pop up bar at Nailsea Electrical and a drop-in wreath making workshop at the Gallimaufry.
