A free talk to help local parents and carers learn how to support their children in the face of climate change.
As more and more people are getting engaged in the conversation about climate change and as it becomes more prominent in the media, not only are we becoming more tuned into it but so are our children. Our response and knowing how to talk to our children about these issues can be hard to navigate which can at times feel overwhelming when we are unsure on how to approach this subject.
The talk aims to address this and includes:
1) How to navigate climate change with our children
2) How to talk with them about it and when not to
3) How best to support them to grow their resilience and capacity to meet an uncertain future.
4) How to support ourselves in our own strong feelings so that we don’t unwittingly pass them on.
Jo McAndrews trained as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and has been running workshops and courses for 30 years on education, child development, community and social justice, trauma and bereavement. She is working more recently in the field of building community resilience in the face of climate change with a particular urgency for building strong adult support for the needs of children and young people.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes for sale.
Any donations to support the Bishop Road PTFA very welcome.
