SATURDAY 27th OCTOBER

Litter Pick: Horfield Common
Volunteers of all ages are needed for a litter pick to keep Horfield Common clean, safe and beautiful.

Volunteers will meet at the Café on the Common at 10am for a briefing and will finish at 12 noon with tea and cake at the café. Both children and adults welcome; don’t forget to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

MONDAY 29th OCTOBER

Outdoors Holiday Club: St Andrews Park
Harry Potter Wizard Wands & Quidditch.  In this session is inspired by the Harry Potter book series. Have fun creating a wand, whittling and adding a core from the forest floor (or something from the Outdoors Project’s magical collection).

What spell you will cast? What will it do?  Kids will also play the game of Quidditch. Which house will you be in: Gryffindor, Slitherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw?

TUESDAY 30th OCTOBER

Outdoors Holiday Club: St Andrews Park
Roald Dahl ‘Kiddles’ Day:  Potions, Dream Catchers & Snozcumbers. A day inspired by 2 well-known Roald Dahl books: George’s Marvellous Medicine & The BFG.

Join the Outdoors Project in a colourful, magic and frankly silly world. Kids will make potions, inventing new giant foods, building dream catchers and running with the giants! PHIZZ – WHIZZING it will be!

WEDNESDAY 31st OCTOBER

Outdoors Holiday Club: St Andrews Park
Minecraft vs Wildcraft  Minecraft Survivor challenge.  Collect your elements & reward pixels, build and maintain your village, earn points and protect your land. Watch out for the Creeper the game is brought to life in a positive tech-use outdoor day!

Halloween Party & Fancy Dress Parade: Horfield Common
The annual Halloween Party and Fancy Dress Parade at the Café on the Common. Suitable for all ages and is always a great community gathering. Children and adults are welcome to come in fancy dress and there’ll be prizes for the best costumes!

The Café on the Common will be open from 4pm with soup and a roll for £2, cakes and treats for £1 and Bacon Sarnies for £3. Soft drinks will also be available.

THURSDAY 1st NOVEMBER

Outdoors Holiday Club: St Andrews Park
Zombie Nerf & Fortnite Halloween Special: Taking elements of the popular video game and combining with the usual antics in the outdoors. Build, forage and survey the apocalypse with your squad!  Teams must collect resources, build fortifications and set traps that help fight the storm, zombies and protect the remaining survivors. The storm and zombie horde is coming!

SATURDAY 3rd NOVEMBER

Horfield Common Repair Café
Bring along your broken goods and the brilliant team of repair volunteers will try their hardest to help you fix them! A great way of  reducing landfill, household costs and promoting the reuse of as many items as possible.

SATURDAY 10th NOVEMBER

Bishop Road Fireworks Extravaganza
All welcome to celebrate fireworks night and help support Bishop Road Primary School. Spectacular fireworks, plus delicious hot food, two bars and a live Samba band.

The event will take place on the school field on Bishop Road (by One Way Garage), Bishopston, BS7 8LX.

  • 5pm Doors open, 6:30pm Last entry
  • Tickets available from the local branch of Boston Tea Party, Gloucester Rd from Fri 26th Oct – Sat 10th Nov
