SENDa Welcome has announced the creation of an inclusive magical garden space designed especially for people with sensory needs at the Ardagh on Horfield Common.
This exciting community project, in partnership with Ardagh Community Trust and My Community Action Group, is set to bloom over the summer — and everyone is invited to get involved!
This initiative aims to provide a calming, engaging outdoor space where everyone — especially those with sensory needs — can connect with nature, explore, and feel welcome.
The collaborative project is not just about planting seeds in the soil, but about growing a stronger, more inclusive community.
The garden build begins on Tuesday 29th July and will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (excluding the week commencing 11th August). Whether you can lend a hand for a day, an hour, or just drop by to show your support, all help is warmly welcomed. The team encourages people of all abilities to join in — no gardening experience necessary!
The project will culminate in a joyful Open Day on Saturday, 30th August, from 10am to 3pm at the Ardagh Pavilion, Off Kellaway Avenue, BS6 7YL.
Visitors will be able to explore the new garden and sensory equipment, enjoy community activities, and meet the fantastic team from Gympanzees.
This is more than just a garden — it’s a space for connection, creativity, and community spirit. Come be part of something special!
