Introducing your child to a foreign language while they are young can be great fun, plus will benefit them in many ways.

Local mum, Natalia Lyes, has recently set up Pasitos Spanish For Your Children; fun Spanish classes for children from 6 months – 4 years, as well as classes for children aged 5 years and over.

Natalia runs Spanish For Your Children classes for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers from her home in Horfield on Saturdays at 12 – 12.30pm and classes for children aged 5+ on Saturdays from 12.45 – 1.25 pm.

She will soon be running an additional class for babies, toddlers and preschoolers on Saturdays and Tuesdays, too.

Classes are kept to a maximum of eight children and are scheduled to run alongside the school terms and last approx 12 weeks.

Spanish For Your Children classes are bright, fun and interesting. Finger rhymes and songs are enjoyed and there are books, puppets and toys, too.

Pasitos also provides bubbles galore for children!

Sessions finish with games and crafts such as puppet and mask making.

Originally from Ecuador, Natalia is a native Spanish speaker (Latino – American Spanish) and along with her husband, raises her two children in a bilingual household.

Natalia has a CBR check, plus plenty of experience working with children. She has worked for many years as a nanny to children of different ages and is now a Spanish teacher at Shield Road Primary School, runs after-school Spanish classes at Horfield Primary School, plus she offers Spanish to Snapdragons Nursery.

As well as having a degree in History and Journalism, Natalia has also worked as a radio producer and presenter for the last 5 years for ‘La Ventana Latina‘, the only Spanish language radio show in Bristol.

Pasitos aims to encourage children’s enthusiasm for Spanish through fun activities covering a wide range of useful vocabulary with emphasis on oral communication and interactive lessons games, stories & songs. Pasitos also teaches young children learn about Spain and its geography and culture.

Natalia provides guidance for parents to encourage and help your child at home, plus a record for parents on your child’s progress throughout the years with continuous check-lists and reports.

On completion of each programme, certificates are awarded to the children.
