As we all know parenting can be hard in every sense of the word. It makes such a difference to have good mum or dad friends who live close by.
But despite the many playgroups, classes and events for children in and near Bishopston, it can still sometimes be difficult to get to know other parents. Plus, the thought of walking into a playgroup full of parents who you don’t know can be daunting.
I have been contacted several times recently by local mums who would like to get to know more parents in the local area. One of these mums is Amy Whitfield who only recently moved to Montpelier and who suggested arranging a meet-up.
I posted the idea of a meet-up on the Bishopston Mum facebook page and received a great response from mums who were keen to make new friends.
Amy and I have arranged for the meet-up to be at 2pm on Friday 26th June at Boston Tea Party on Gloucester Road.
We thought Boston Tea Party would be a good venue as it is central, plus it is child-friendly for those parents bringing children. The staff at Boston Tea Party are kindly reserving us a couple of tables inside and it would be great to fill them!
So, whether you are a mum or dad who is new to the area or you would simply like to meet other local parents, please come along. I won’t know anyone either so we will all be in the same boat!
If you would like to come along or have any questions about the meet-up, please email me (Hilary) on bristol_mum@hotmail.com
We hope to see you there!
