Ardagh Toddlers: a Bishopston Mum review

Today Bishopston Mum features a review of Ardagh Toddlers by a local mum who regularly attends the group with her one-year-old son.

Ardagh Toddlers is a group for babies and toddlers and their parents/carers which is held on Mondays 10-11.30am in term-time at the Ardagh Pavillion on Horfield Common. The group runs on a drop-in basis and there is a £2.50 entry fee.

I hope you find this review helpful.

What age is Ardagh Toddlers ideal for in your opinion?

0-3 and I think it does suit the full age range, from tiny babies to toddlers.

What toys and activities are available?

There is a good range of toys to play with including cars, play kitchen and some ride on toys, as well as puzzles and a craft activity. There is also a baby corner where you can sit and talk with other parents with very young or pre-crawling babies.

What is the routine of the group?

Tea, coffee, biscuits and water or squash for the babies or toddlers is served at 10.30am.

Is Ardagh Toddlers a friendly group or did it take a while to get to know other parents?

Yes it is a friendly group, they even give everyone a name label each week to help you get chatting. The volunteers who run the group are also very friendly and helpful.

It’s really good to have a separate area for babies as toddler groups are often geared to toddlers. And, the volunteers bring tea and coffee to you which is really nice when you are tired!

In your opinion what are the best bits and the worst bits about this group?

It isn’t a huge space so the only worst bit is when it gets too busy.

Anything else that you would like to add?

Seems like a great place to go with both a tiny baby and a toddler as there is always a volunteer available to help out.
