Located on Maplemeade in Bishopston, Kings LTC runs tennis classes, coaching and activities for both children and adults of all ages and abilities. And, what with the Easter holidays approaching, there are some great holiday club activities planned, too!

Hi, please tell us a little bit about Kings LTC.
Kings is now a big part of the community! It is led by Head Coach Elly Shearman who is not only a Bishopston Mum but grew up playing at Kings competing at a national level and is now bringing her passion for tennis back to the community and to club that she loves!
We have a great family atmosphere and are developing a great social and fun atmosphere for all abilities at the club!
Please tell readers about the classes and activities for kids at Kings LTC?
Kings has a full weekly junior program – this is running for kids ranging from ages 4 – 18 and at all ability levels. I place a high importance in getting a child into the right group that suits them socially as well as ability-wise! We also have holiday courses that run throughout all holidays that suit a wide range of children of all abilities and ages!
The Easter holidays are fast approaching! Will you be running any tennis activities for children during the holidays?

Can anyone of any age and ability play tennis at Kings?
YES! There are a variety of options for all abilities and all ages! Get in contact with Elly if you are not sure!
Please tell readers about the tennis coaching and activities on offer for adults at Kings LTC.
We have beginners to advanced league level adult coaching – the main adult coaching sessions are on Mondays and Thursdays! As an adult member of the club there is a ladder to play all year round, there are Bristol leagues we take part in (we have some of the highest numbers of league teams in Bristol).
There are club play nights, Match practice nights, Social events such as this Saturday Doubles and then watching the 6 nations rugby! We have doubles clinics and individual coaching available.
Can people play tennis competitively at Kings LTC if they wish?
100%!! We have some of the highest numbers of competitive league teams in Bristol that run all year round!! Our ladies first team is competing nationally this year! Teams include singles, doubles, and mixed!! We also have an inter club ladder and annual club tournament!
What opportunities are there for people to play tennis socially at Kings LTC?
There are club play nights; match practice nights; at weekends there is a lot of ladder competition within the club members, league play in the Bristol leagues (our women’s first team is competing nationally this year!); as well as fun family social tennis events all year round!
We also have some free events coming up on Friday April 1st and Saturday 9th April for families to play together for free AND our we have an OPEN DAY on Saturday April 16th.
Please tell readers a bit about your Saturday drop-in sessions.
There are Saturday morning drop in sessions at 9.30-10.30AM which are £3 per session for children aged 8 and under and also sessions at 10.30-11.30 £3 per session for children aged 12 and under – the idea is to have fun and learn something new, plus it is a great way to start playing the sport!
How can people become members at Kings and what are the benefits of doing this?
It’s easy to become a member! Contact Gordon at gordon-bannister@tiscali.co.uk – you get access to the courts whenever you want, you get cheaper coaching rates, and you can use the clubhouse as well!
Are there any chances for people to play tennis for free at Kings this year?
YES! There’s an Open day at Kings LTC on Saturday 16th April, plus Mini Family Tennis on Friday 1st April and Saturday 9th April – see the Kings website for link to sign up.
There’s also Tennis in the Park (date to be arranged) and plenty more opportunities during the year!

We have free play for families, cardio tennis (tennis for fitness to upbeat music!), mini tennis for tots, measure your serve speed and coaching on your serve, adult coaching, junior coaching, hitting accuracy for prizes, bouncy castle and games as well as food and drink available!! Last year was a massive success so book up early!

Is the Kings LTC Club house available for hire?
