Please read on to find out about this mum’s thoughts and experiences of this pre-school…
Why did you choose Horfield Methodist Playgroup as a pre-school for your child?
It was recommended by a trusted friend, it was local (walkable), I love the light airy hall it is held in and I love their collection of bikes/scooters for whizzing round the hall on.
How did staff manage your child’s settling-in process?
Staff were relaxed and flexible regarding settling in. Basically left it up to me how I did it, encouraged me to stay as long as I liked.
When I did start leaving my daughter they advised I came back a bit early. They cuddled, reassured and tried to distract/engage her on the occasions she got upset.
What do you like best about this pre-school?
It’s walkable, the range of activities, the staff are consistent, the kids know what to expect from them. Small group too.
What do you like least?
Only that the outside space is a concrete yard so not much time in nature.
What kind of activities are on offer?
There’s an indoor climbing frame/trampette, play dough, play kitchen, pretend shop/doctors/hairdresser/vet set up, bikes, sand/water/pasta tray, puzzles, paints, dressing up.
What do you think of the staff?
Reliable, quite no-nonsense but very caring, can be fun and silly with the kids.
