Don’t let the recent wild, blustery weather put you off going for local walks with your little ones.
After a day of rain and wind yesterday, my little girl and I ventured out for an early evening walk on Horfield Common and we were glad we did.
We enjoyed seeing all the signs of Autumn!
Against the rough and tumble of the wind and the roaring of the trees overhead, we explored.
We discovered wind-smashed conkers, brown and shiny in their shells.
We admired scattered leaves of red, brown and yellow.
We balanced on giant fallen tree trunks.
At dusk our walk was completed by watching a small but lovely murmuration of starlings swooping and circling again and again in the sky.
It was almost as if it they were performing just for us.
