In September this year a wonderful new purpose-built Early Years Foundation Stage centre will open at Colston’s School in Stapleton, Bristol.
The Governing Body and Headmaster at Colston’s Lower School have announced the development of the building which will see an investment of over £1 million and bring the nursery and reception classes under one bespoke roof.
The development includes two exciting and challenging play spaces being developed in conjunction with Touchwood, a company which creates innovative bespoke and sustainable play spaces designed with the children’s educational journey in mind.
The building of the exciting new addition to the Lower School will begin in the next few weeks and will be open for pupils from September 2018.
The building will house the school’s Nursery and Reception classes in one purpose-built space of 462 metres squared and feature a dining space and fully-functional kitchen for the youngest pupils.
It will also ensure access to year-round outdoor space with canopies to ensure children can free-flow. Plus, two exciting and challenging play spaces will be developed, including a wonderful garden area for children to enjoy, complete with log piles, bat and bird boxes!
Head of Colston’s Lower School, Mr David Edwards explains:
“This project is so exciting for so many different reasons. This bespoke building and play spaces will support our fabulous team to give Colston’s youngest pupils a truly exciting and very high quality start to their journey with us.”
