Creepy Crawlies, Animals, Bears and More: Discover a Picture Trail in Lockleaze!

If you are out and about with your children this month, why not potter along the Concord cycle track between Bonnington Walk and Constable Road in Lockleaze, and discover a kids’ picture trail!

The picture trail consists of 12 pictures to spot, all of which are updated regularly.  This week’s picture trail consists of creepy crawlies; other recent trails have included an animal picture trail and places to visit!

The trail has been created especially for young children to enjoy by local resident, Kay Shuttleworth, who is a mum, grandmother, great-grandmother, retired childminder, and who has also been involved in Scouting for over 30 years!

Kay explains: “I am a very keen walker and am missing out on a few this year – my daily lock-down walks were along the cycle track. I passed quite a few families using the track with their little ones. I just thought it would be fun if the children had something to look for while doing their exercise.”

Kay initially posted the trail on some local facebook groups so that local parents could know what to look for.  She received many positive comments which inspired her to continue the trail: “Having had some lovely comments, I felt I should keep doing it. It has been fun thinking up new things each week and walking the cycle track is now part of my much longer walks.”

I recommend ambling along the cycle track with your children to find the creepy crawly picture trail.  Who knows what bugs and beasties you might discover this week!
