Magic Dragon Pre-school has produced an amazing activity booklet for parents and other child carers to help keep kids entertained this summer.
The 28-page colour booklet is called “Have Fun at Home” and is jam-packed with over 100 ideas of activities for children aged 2-5 to enjoy at home throughout the holidays.
The booklet has been created by Magic Dragon leader, Niki Hawke, after many parents/carers asked staff for ideas of activities to keep kids entertained throughout the summer. She realised that it would be useful to have all of the activity ideas contained in one place which inspired her to create the booklet.
The activities are all based on Magic Dragon practitioners’ knowledge and experience of what young children enjoy doing at Magic Dragon, plus feedback from parents of what their children are interested in.
There booklet has been arranged into simple sections entitled “Messy Play”, “Explore”, “Play”, “Create”, “Grow”, “Craft Ideas” and “Nursery Rhymes”.
Each section then includes a wide-range of fun activity ideas such as making mud pies, water play, potion-making, mini-beast hunts, mapping out a road, setting up a post office, making pressed flower cards and many more!
Niki has also included information about how some of the activities help to children learn and has offered examples of how to adapt or extend some of the activities both indoors and outdoors.
The booklet has been professionally designed, produced and illustrated and is really-well presented and easy-to-read. The booklet will also be useful for parents/carers of slightly older children too, giving them lots of fun activity ideas!
A donation for each booklet is requested to cover costs which is hoped will raise money to buy some new sports equipment for Magic Dragon for the kids when they return to preschool in September.
I am certain that this amazing activity booklet will be a great help to many local parents/carers of young children this summer, inspiring them with lots of fun ideas of activities to keep kids entertained!
