It is not often someone can say that they have just launched their own wine. Yet this is exactly what my friend Ingrid Bates can do after she released Dunleavy vineyard’s first wine to the public two weeks ago.
If you are a long-term reader of Bishopston Mum, you may have read my interview with Ingrid last year. I first met Ingrid at a book club a year and a half ago and see her every week at Piglets Toddler Group so I have heard first-hand of her hard toil in her vineyard. In fact, Ingrid has worked on the plants that produced this wine – a Pinot Noir – since 2008 so her success is long deserved.
The launch of Ingrid’s first wine release was held at Grape and Grind on Gloucester Road. I had never been invited to a wine launch before so I was rather excited! I must confess, I know very little about wine, however, this did not get in the way of my enjoyment of a glass or two of it at the launch 😉
Dunleavy Vineyard’s Pinot Noir Rose has proved so popular that it sold out within days. Here’s a toast (over some Dunleavy Vineyard’s wine, of course) for Ingrid to release more fine wine in future!
It was delicious! I went back for another couple of bottles!
Looking forward to trying some very soon!
