Bishopston and its surrounding areas will soon boast an outdoor toddler group!
The Golden Buds Green Parent & Toddler Group is being launched in the Spring at Golden Hill Community Orchard, which is situated behind Horfield Prison, off Monk Road. The new group has been organised by Lucy Mitchell, Community Project Worker for the Community Garden.
Golden Hill Community Garden is a great space for all ages and I am really pleased that the new outdoor playgroup will mean that the younger members of our community can enjoy its benefits.
The Golden Buds Green Parent & Toddler Group is aimed at children aged 18 months – 4 years and will be held on Tuesday mornings in term-time from 10 – 11.30am. Activities on offer will include natural crafts (such as leaf crowns), pond dipping (frog spawn to catch in the Spring!), digging in the digging bed, planting seeds (which will include growing sunflowers in the Summer!), watering, flower walks, “fairy feasts” (picking edible flowers) and much more!
Squash and a snack will be given to the children (freshly grown from the garden) and hot drinks will be provided to parents and carers too.
Sessions must be booked in advance, per term which will work out at £4.50 per child per session. Each second sibling is welcomed at £2 and 0 -12 month olds are free.
Until the the launch of Golden Buds Green Parent & Toddler Group, there will be three free taster sessions on Tuesday 18th February, Tuesday 25th February and Tuesday 4th March.
If you would like to book on any of these free taster dates, please contact Lucy Mitchell on 07506 905 394 or email email@example.com.
