The final opportunity to cycle on Bristol Downs without cars will take place on Sunday, 20th September. Bring your bikes, family and friends and join in the pedal-powered fun between 9am – 12pm for the last Cycle Sunday of the year, an event organised by LifeCycle UK.
Vicki Cracknell, Cycle Sunday campaigner, explains:
“We have been thrilled with the support for the Cycle Sunday events this year. This coming Sunday is our last chance to demonstrate to the Downs Committee (all of whom have been invited!) that there is a huge demand for car free cycling around the Downs.
“We all need to work together to make the Downs a cycle friendly destination and every person who attends the event will be helping that happen.”
As well as being a fantastic opportunity to cycle around the Downs without traffic, when you register for Cycle Sunday you will be able to enter a prize draw to win a genuine Bristol Bicycle commuter bike thanks to Bristol Bicycles. To register and enter the prize draw click here.
The event will be open to people of all ages and abilities with opportunities with lots of information available about inclusive cycling activities.
Life Cycle’s Two’s Company team will be on hand with some tandems for people who are visually impaired to try out and Ride in the Parks will have a range of adapted cycles for all abilities.
Poppy Brett, CEO, Life Cycle UK said:
“Cycle Sunday is a lovely family focused event, where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy cycling on the Downs without the stress or noise of traffic. We are expecting thousands of local people to join us for the last Cycle Sunday of 2015.”
As part of the celebrations APE project will be pedalling up smoothies and music will be provided via Rinky Dink’s pedal powered sound system.
The Cycle Sunday team look forward to seeing you, with your bikes, family and friends on the Downs on Sunday, 20th September – don’t forget to register and you could win a free bike.
