One sunny afternoon last week my children and I decided to pop into the World Peace Café on Gloucester Road, one of our favourite local cafés.
Part of the Buddhist Amitabha Kadampa Meditation Centre, this lovely not-for-profit café is open to the public and offers an oasis of calm and serenity amidst the hustle and bustle of Gloucester Road.
Plus, the World Peace Café is baby and child-friendly!
Situated at The Old Vicarage, the World peace Café offers delicious (and reasonably-priced) vegetarian and vegan lunches, snacks and drinks.
In the Winter the wood-burning stove keeps the cosy café toasty, there are comfy sofas to relax on, free wi-fi, plus toys to entertain young children.
In the warmer Summer months there’s a beautiful garden which your children will love exploring; there’s grass to play on, little steps to climb, plus colourful ornaments and Buddhist figures hiding amongst the flowers.
On our visit weather was warm enough to sit at a table at the top of the garden and my children and I enjoyed a relaxing hour.
My son was content to sit in the Spring sunshine drinking his juice and reading his comic and my little girl loved exploring and discovering.
I would recommend stopping by at The World Peace Café one day with your children, you won’t be disappointed.
I have been visiting this little cafe since my children were tiny and it never fails to disappoint!
The World Peace Café is open Monday to Friday, 11am – 3pm. It is located at The Old Vicarage, BS7 8NX. Enjoy!
