On Saturday 12th May from 1-4pm there will be a wonderful Spring Fair at the Golden Hill Community Garden.
The annual community event will be thoroughly family friendly with lots of old school fun and plenty of free kids’ activities to enjoy.
The Pigsty Morris Dancers will be entertaining all with some traditional dancing and there will be live music from the wonderful ‘What the Folk’.
There will also be delicious home-made cakes to eat, yummy fresh pizza freshly baked in the garden’s Froggy pizza oven to scoff, organic vegetable and flower seedlings to buy, plus the chance to win a mini allotment starter kit in the raffle!
Children can enjoy making beautiful May crowns, pond dipping, hunting for gnomes hidden around the garden, face painting, playing giant games, enjoying the garden’s clockwork train and the chance to make some noise with the garden’s junk orchestra!
And, should your children need a space to chill out at any point during the Spring Fair, there will be a lovely quiet area with sensory play where they can do so.
Entry on the day is £1 per adult and kids go free. Golden Hill Community Garden is through the gates at the end of Monk Road, behind Bishop Road School and Horfield Prison, BS7 8NE.
If you are able to support this marvelous community fair, help is needed in the following ways:
- Home-made cakes are needed! Misshapen biscuits, simple flapjacks and anything sweet you might like to cook will be gratefully accepted!
- Volunteers on the day are also needed should you have a couple of hours spare – either to help set up from 11am, tidy up, or help on a stall.
If you would like to help in either of the above ways please contact Lucy Mitchell on 07506 905 394 or email ghcgarden@gmail.com.
