Exciting New After-School Drama Classes for 11-16 year olds in BS7

I am really pleased to introduce some exciting new after-school drama classes for 11-16 year olds starting this week in BS7.

Brought to you by Bristol Academy of Drama (BAD), classes will take place after-school on Wednesdays 4.45-6.45pm at the Quaker Meeting House on Gloucester Road, BS7. Performances take place in the amazing MacKinnon Theatre of 1532 Performing Arts Centre in BS8.

Led by experienced drama facilitators, classes will involve not only the fun of drama games and rehearsing for a show but will also include Masterclasses in many exciting areas of performance.

Masterclasses include Improvisation Skills, Puppetry, Stand Up Comedy, Comedia Del Arte and Stage Combat!

However, drama is so much more than performance. Classes will also build confidence, create new friendships outside of the school setting, help with teamwork and creative learning skills which benefits all areas of learning.

B.A.D. have their own Writer in Residence who writes shows especially for them but, for the older students, there is the chance to experiment with devising and creating theatre of their own so that they can create their own stories incorporating the skills they have learnt.

Free tasters are available!

Classes £15 per session charged on a termly basis.

“BAD has been brilliant.  It has given my daughter a deeper insight into the world of drama, theatre and performance and shown her the dedication and hard work needed to put on a performance.  The classes have given her the opportunity to spend time with like-minded individuals from other year groups, learn new techniques and have the thrill of participating in a production. Claire has been very organised, professional and brings a wealth of expertise, experience and enthusiasm to the classes.”

To book a place or organise a free taster session for any of the above classes, please email Claire at bristolacademyofdrama@gmail.com or check out their website https://bristolacademydrama.co.uk.
