The Friends of Horfield Common have a new mission: to bring Junior Parkrun to Horfield Common!

Junior Parkrun are free 2k events for children aged between 4-14 which are held in areas of open space around the UK.

Junior Parkrun events are fun, safe and open to all. You don’t need to be fit to take part in the runs and there is no pressure at all; you can go as fast or slow as you like!

Junior Parkrun events already take place in other areas of Bristol including Kings Weston Estate and Eastville Park.

Horfield Common would provide an ideal location for regular Junior Parkrun events to take place for local families.

But in order to bring Junior Parkrun to Horfield Common, FoHC need to first raise £3,000 to pay for the set-up fee to run the event.

This amount will pay for the essential training and equipment needed for volunteers to run the event regularly, including a mandatory defibrillator before this can be done.
