SENDaWelcome Community Workshops in BS7: for young people with SEND

Following a great first term the SENDaWelcome Community workshops will be back again in 2019!

These weekly workshops are for young people with learning disabilities aged 11 – 16 living in and around BS7.

They are an opportunity to meet up with other local young people, make friends, have some fun making music and maybe even form a band.

Accessible Community Music Workshops:
Join Tara and Tony from Bristol band The Rin Tins for 6 accessible music workshops starting in January 2019, you don’t need any musical experience to take part!

Parents and carers will be able to stay in the adjoining link room and enjoy a well-earned cuppa, a chat and biscuits! Places are limited to 10 young people.

  • When: 10.30am – 11.30pm on Saturday mornings
  • Where: Front Hall at St Michaels’ Church on Gloucester Road
  • Cost: the workshops will cost £30 (£5 a week) per participant for the 6
    sessions
  • When: Jan 26th, Feb 2nd, 9th (Break for half term) March 2nd, 9th, 16th
  • Please email sendawelcome@gmail.com to book a place.

Social & Art Workshop:
Please come along to this Window Wanderland Art Workshop & Social where there will be an art session around the theme of ‘This is me!’. All are welcome and the work will be displayed as part of Window Wanderland at Boston Tea Party, Gloucester Road in February.

If your child has no interest in art, don’t worry!  There will be other things to do, including face painting, cake decorating, spending time with Nelly the dog and playing with toys.  And we are delighted to welcome along AppleShed, Inclusive Theatre, who will be running a workshop.  There will be cake and tea too!
