It was wonderful to see so many members of the local community take part in Mayfest 2019 which took place on Gloucester Road recently.
It was also great to see the younger members of the community take part!
This year the 91st Bristol Scout Group’s cubs and scouts held an amazing cake sale outside Xpress Printing on Gloucester road and raised a whopping £163.
Both parents and children baked a marvellous array of delicious cakes for the sale and the cubs and scouts had great fun selling them, too!
All proceeds will be going to The Bridge Foundation charity which helps provide counselling and psychotherapy for children in schools.
Oliver Thomas, Assistant Scout Leader for the 91st cubs section explains:
“The standard was very high and we received many complimentary remarks from our customers (OK, and maybe a few from the cubs, scouts and leaders!).
“We were really impressed with the cubs and scouts for their customer service and sales skills. It was great to see them taking responsibility for dealing with the customers, managing the cash, and coming up with relevant pricing strategies depending on the demand and stock levels. We have some budding mini-apprentices in our midst I believe! “
Liam from Xpress Design and Print kindly let the scout group use the outside of his shop, enabling the sale to be the success it was.
And, not only was the cake sale a great success, but it will also make a real impact to lives of the children and young people that the Bridge Foundation supports.
Great work, 91st Bristol Scout Group!
