If you ever fancy some wild outdoors fun just on your doorstep, why not pop into the Golden Hill Community Garden?
Open every Wednesday from 10am – 4pm, the community garden is open to the community, and what’s more it’s completely free.
Run by volunteers, the community garden offers a giant pond full of bugs and beasties to discover should you fancy doing some pond dipping; fishing nets and trays are supplied by the garden should you fancy a go!
There’s also lots of wild grass to roam through, trees to hide behind should you fancy play hide and seek behind, not to mention an amazing array of veggies, plants and flowers to admire.
Every half-term or holiday I take my kids to the Golden Hill Community Garden and often make a day of it, taking a packed lunch to enjoy. And, should the heavens open, there’s always the straw bale house to escape into! There’s also a compost loo to use when needs must.
The Golden Hill Community Garden also offers holiday club sessions for kids aged 5-12 during the school holidays, plus special sessions for children with SEND and their families.
