One of Henleaze’s biggest and most-loved community events is back this September, with Party in the Park returning to Golden Hill Sports for a day packed with family fun, entertainment and plenty of traditional fairground-style excitement.

The annual fundraiser attracts thousands of local people and this year’s event promises something for everyone, with tractor rides, inflatables, bumper cars, live music, local demonstrations and lots of stalls to browse.

Feeling hungry? There’ll be plenty of food and drink, including a BBQ and bar, before the day finishes with a spectacular firework display. 🎆

And while it’s a brilliant day out for families, there’s an important reason behind the fun. All money raised goes directly towards running costs and improving the facilities at Golden Hill Sports, supporting the club’s many football and cricket teams for boys, girls, men and women.

Almost 20 years of community fundraising

Party in the Park has been a Henleaze tradition since 2007, when the sports ground was purchased from the YMCA to protect the site from housing development.

Club members and local residents came together to raise the money needed to secure the ground as a place where people of all ages could enjoy sport and social activities.

Nearly 20 years later, the event is still going strong — helping to fund the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the clubhouse and grounds.

So gather your family, invite your neighbours and come along for a great afternoon and evening of community fun, live entertainment, food, fireworks and fundraising.
