🌻 If you’re looking for something a little different to do with the family this Saturday, there’s a lovely Harvest Fair taking place on 19 September, with plenty of hands-on activities, music, food and family fun.

The afternoon will have a real community feel, with activities including willow weaving, vegetable sculpting and apple pressing. If you’ve got an apple tree that’s been particularly generous this year, you’re encouraged to bring along some spare apples and help turn them into fresh apple juice!

There will also be arts and crafts with local artist Jenni Stuart, live music from The City of Bristol Learner Band and What the Folk?!, and the chance to get involved in some wonderfully bonkers junk drumming with Paul Midgley.

If you’re interested in growing your own food, Bristol Seed Swap will be giving a seed-saving talk and practical demonstration at 3pm — a useful one for anyone thinking about collecting and saving seeds from their garden.

And, of course, there’ll be plenty to keep the children happy, with lots of free activities, as well as cakes, samosas and all the lovely things you’d expect at a community fair. 🌻🍎🌳

The fair runs from 1pm–4pm and there’s a suggested donation of £2 for adults and £1 for children. However, the organisers are keen that cost shouldn’t be a barrier, so if you’d rather not pay, you can simply come along for free.

It sounds like a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon — especially if you fancy getting the children away from screens and doing something creative, messy and a little bit autumnal!
